Denali Memcon Conference

posted Thursday, 29 September 2005
I recently became aware of a conference called Denali Memcon that will be held this year in Santa Clara, CA Oct 12-13. The conference expects to be fairly large this year with 1500 participants and 40 presentations. The conference began in 2002 and is held annually in various cities worldwide such as Austin, Boston, Taiwan, Tokyo, and San Jose. Topics include memory, storage, and serial interfaces. Based on some of the presentations, it seems like PCI-Express will be a big topic this year. Much of the conference seems to be very interesting and relavant to my work. It is too late to plan to attend this year, but it is a conference to keep an eye on in the future. The conference is hosted by Denali Software, a company that specializes in providing software, intellectual property, and tools to address the problem of the memory bandwidth bottleneck. The main problem is that the speed of processing data is outpacing the ability of memory devices to deliver the data fast enough.

I will be very intereted to read some of the presentations from the conference if they are made available. I may review some of those presentations in the future. If anyone else has any information regarding this conference, please post it on this blog.
