I saw a news story earlier this month, and
again tonight on Yahoo News about Mars being at its brightest point on Christmas Eve this year. According to the story, Mars is very close to earth right now, and also directly opposite the sun so it is reflecting the maximum amount of light. Unfortunately the weather forecast in Northeast Wisconsin for tomorrow night is mostly to partly cloudy so it might not be possible to see Mars. Another
article on the Discovery Channel news web site, describes in a little more detail when and where to view Mars at this time. Basically it should be a couple of hand widths to the west of the moon in the night sky. Some even better information about viewing Mars can be found at this
article on Astronomy.com web site.
