A couple years ago I wrote an article about network cabling for 10 GBase-T Ethernet. At the time, the cat 6a cable was fairly expensive. I recently came across the catalog for a company that sells networking equipment and supplies called
Black Box Networks. They have a broad selection of network cables. I also noticed that they are selling RJ-45 like jacks for use in 10 GBase-T applications. I wasn't aware that there was such a standardized jack yet. I'm not sure what makes it differnet from a regular RJ-45 jack. The price for Cat 6a cable does not seem to have come down much yet since my previous article. Then again 10 GBase-T does not seem to have gained much traction yet in the industry either.
