I'm excited because I just watched the international space station and the space shuttle go across the sky. I read this article this afternoon about viewing opportunities in North America today and tomorrow. I also discovered this NASA site that will give you the exact time and location for sitings based on where you are. I actually didn't find this site until after I saw the shuttle and space station tonight. I only sort of knew what time to go outside because I found a local news story on a Cleveland TV station web site about it, giving the time for Cleveland. Being geographically close to Cleveland on a global scale, I figured it would probably be about the same time here, so that's when I went out to look. Since the shuttle undocked today, the shuttle and space station appeared as two bright dots in the sky, one following the other and emerging from the Northwest, passing overhead, and then disappearing in the Southeast sky. There is another similar viewing opportunity tomorrow night, but I'm not sure the weather here is going to cooperate.
